This is a BGD904 module mounted to a CNC machined heat spreader.
(1) 20dB gain to 1GHz.
(2) 1 watt minimum output (single carrier) into a 50 ohm load.
(3) Maximum recommended input level is 13dbm (20mw).
(4) Rugged V-byte 50 ohm PCB connectors are designed to resist rotational forces.
(5) Requires 24VDC @ 410ma. Power supply not included.
(6) Special hybrid compression sockets allow the hybrid to be removed/replaced without soldering.
(7) Professionally manufactured PCB includes all plated thru-vias solder mask and silkscreen
Despite what you may have heard these modules will produce harmonics when they are driven hard. The plot at the left shows the fundamental carrier at 98MHz and the second harmonic (-40dbc) at 196Mhz. This plot was taken at 1.5 watts out. The BGD904 module is a class A RF amplifier.

This broadband RF power module that is ideal for laboratory use such as boosting the source of signal generators and network analyzers. It is also useful for amplifying low power video and FM transmitters in the 50-1000MHz range.
The module should be mounted to a heat sink to keep it running cool. 6-32 or 8-32 size screws can be used for securing the pallet to a heat sink.
Power and ground connections must be made by the customer. There are 2 via holes at the bottom of the PC board to allow easy soldering.
For those who already have the catv modules, we sell the pallet fully assembled and tested without a hybrid for only $45. Printed circuit boards can also be purchased (without components) for only $6/ea. Please contact us if you need circuit boards or a pallet without a hybrid.
